About Us

Our goal is to promote healthful foods that are a direct result of sustainable farming practices. Our Producers have the knowledge, ability and willingness to raise livestock without the use of growth hormones and antibiotics, plus biologically harmful fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides are used at a minimum.

Use of antibiotics and growth hormones/implants is prohibited. During winter/confinement feeding animals may be fed on concrete/stone lots as long as the animals have access to roam freely outside the feeding area. Pasture and forages (hay and silage) should make up at least 80% of the diet for cattle and sheep. Non-GMO feeds will be used whenever possible.

Tom Trimmer - Head Honcho

A believer in thinking globally, but acting locally, Tom Trimmer founded Pampered Beef in 1999 on the notion that the best beef is from cattle grown locally. Tom was born in Fenton, Michigan, and his father brought him "up north" on many hunting and fishing trips as a kid. Tom experienced the beauty and appeal of northern Michigan during these excursions. Drawn to the Oscoda County area, Tom became a resident when he was 21 years old. Always an outdoorsman and animal lover, Tom has lived in northern Michigan for over 40 years. As a Spartan, Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries and Wildlife and a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry from Michigan State University. Active in the community, Tom served as an Oscoda County Commissioner for two terms. He also spent his career assisting local businesses, farmers, and rural residents by writing USDA loans and grants. Over the years, he has carefully and attentively tended Pampered Beef, receiving orders for his products as far away as Virginia and Florida. Visitors are always welcome to Tom's farm, where you may find him out with the horses, training his dogs, or pampering your beef.

Associate Producers

A.J. Yoder

AJ has a small farm and raises Pampered Beef cattle. All the crops he grows on his farm are non-GMO.

Marlin Hochstetler

Marlin is an Amish dairy farmer who also backgrounds Pampered Beef cattle in the winter. All the crops he grows on his farm are non-GMO.

Marvin Gingrich

Marvin is the local Amish farrier. He also raises driving horses, standardbreds and dutch harness, plus has a small flock of sheep from which he supplies lambs for Pampered Beef customers.

Nathan Hochstetler

Whispering Pine Farm is an Amish cow/calf to freezer beef cattle operation, which works closely with Pampered Beef. We share facilities and pastures in the common goal of raising healthy natural beef.


Pigs are supplied to Pampered Beef by Triple B Heritage Farm. Owned by Robert Byler an Amish farmer who raises the old style heritage breeds of pigs. The pigs are on pasture and are fed acorns in the ration to give them a very distinctive flavor. All feed is non-GMO.
